A recent attempted armed robbery on a rural road in west-central Saskatchewan has struck fear into the hearts of farmers in the area, and some are now carrying firearms to protect themselves.

It's not a new thing. Look at that farmer charged with murder in Saskatchewan.

The only new thing is that it's happening more often. It used to be that a farmer would see a strange vehicle coming miles away, and so would the neighbors. Now a farmer has to work so much land to get by that he might not have neighbours he can see for a couple sections.

Why provide evidence to the Crown?

Run them over with the tractor, the plough out back will take care of the rest. "Three guys in a blue truck? No, never saw anyone like that officer."

    Bonus, free truck!

At around 11:40 a.m. CST RCMP were called about three unknown men with masked faces, wearing sunglasses who approached a worker from a local farm who was driving. The suspects approached the truck on foot. Each was carrying a handgun, according to the RCMP.

This can't be true. Everyone knows that Canada has common sense gun control laws that prohibit criminals from running around with handguns.

Now what the government and law enforcement really need to go after are those vigilantes who think they have a right to take the law into their own hands with their military style assault weapons instead of politely cooperating with the criminals...who are only committing these crimes because the minimum wage isn't high enough, because of income inequalities, racism, and global warming.

(Thought I'd beat the usual suspects to their typical scripted replies)

Those capitalist landowners living off the sweat of the destitute and downtrodden. They were only there to redistribute the wealth to the poor and oppressed.

Bet there was a lot of pearls clutched and undergarments spontaneously soiled when the CBC faithful opened the article to see a picture of a shotgun with a combat grip and some kind of AK knockoff at the top of the page. Damn gun nuts with their Glocks and AR-15's!

Bonus, free truck! :twisted:The most realistic outcome for these armed vigilantes is an untimely death over some farm equipment that is insured anyway.

But it probably makes people feel pretty macho so why not right?

    Idiots.
