    Awwww isn't that special.

Now if they'd just stop fucking over their suppliers no matter the gender and pay them a fair price for their products rather than threatening to boycott them for not selling at a severely reduced price. And no folks it isn't just buying in bulk that gets them such cheap prices.

That whole label thing is complete bullshit. Obviously the Wally World people think it's good PR.

Re: FOG's link... disgusting. I have never been a fan of Wal-Mart at all and have only been in one once or twice while camping in Oregon 20 years ago when we needed something or other... I've never been in a Wal-Mart in Canada.

It's companies like them, as it states in the article, that have contributed to the destruction of the manufacturing sector in the USA and Canada. It's getting to the point now that virtually everything we need and use is made overseas and quality, safety and longevity of goods has suffered greatly not to mention the thousands of jobs that have gone down the drain permanently.

Wal-Mart is responding to the needs and demands of the customer.

Customers, not Wal-Mart, have expectations and are choosing to shop at Wal-Mart, pay a few pennies less than another store all while bitching about Wal-Mart killing jobs.

We are doing this to ourselves.

Unfortunately this is bang on. I have never spent one nickel in any Wal-Mart. And the same for Target.

Too many people follow the "price is everything" motto and don't bother to look at quality and the rest of the big picture. Even my kids know that toys from the dollar store are crap, so they don't buy them.

Wal-Mart provides sub-standard products combined with sub-standard service. I have no idea why people would subject themselves to shitty products and shitty service to pay a few dollars less. I spend my money at local stores or some of the big chains that offer a good product and service.

Another tidbit of information that most Wal-Mart customers don't know is that with every "Rollback" comes a "Rollup". For them to drop a 20 cents off of an item, the price of another (or multiple) will increase. Their associates do tons of price changes on a weekly basis.

That's certainly true as I've seen the prices of things fluctuate from week to week on a number of things. We shop there every couple of weeks, but its mostly for eggs, milk and other staples (they have a brand of Eggs with Omega-3 we really like). Typically, we spread our dollars around to a wide variety of stores - last weekend we went to Costco, Walmart, Sobey's, T&T, Superstore and No Frills. The bulk of our dollars typically go to Costco though.

Despite their reputation, I've often found items for less at Sobey's or even Safeway. That's because their price match policy only includes items in the weekly flyers and on everything in the store, so while some things are cheap, others are just as, or more expensive, than items at their competitors.

I don't go to Walmart. Bad karma. But it's not like Crappy Tire is much different--crappy service and crappy products. Their few non-crappy products are pretty much the same price as stores where the folks workgin there actually have some clue as to the products they are selling.

Reason #587 why I don't shop at WalMart.

What a ridiculous marketing scheme. Sadly, millions of sheeple will fall for it.

I stopped going to the one CT back home when the started stocking groceries!

And you nailed their service, non-stop it's not my department or just a plain I don't know when asked a question. But that's only if you can pry them from chatting with co-workers who all turn their backs if they see customers approaching them.

Yeah well you pay peanuts, you get monkeys, as they say. The Rona nearby hires retired handy guys. Half the time these guys are practically offering to swing by and help me with the project..

The Rona back home is about half and half. The key is knowing what days the retards aren't working.
