Central Intelligence Agency Director David Petraeus has resigned, citing an extra-marital affair, NBC News reported. "Yesterday afternoon, I went to the White House and asked the President to be allowed,...
If a CIA employee works in covert operations, having an affair is grounds for termination. Can't allow enemies to leverage an operative's dirty secrets. It seems Gen. Patraeus is extending the same rule to himself.

Yep, in the trade it's called a honeypot/honeytrap.
The Soviets used to try it on just about every Marine stationed in Moscow during the Cold War.
Why does he not have to testify? LOTS of people who changed jobs have to testify anyway...
Clinton and Lewinski was no problem, yet this is, AND he does not have to testify? Huh...
Petraeus was expected to testify before the Senate Intelligence Committee next week on the Benghazi attack. Morrell will take his place, according to the office of Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who is chairman of that committee.

Given that lame excuse it sounds like General Petraeus should have been working for Christie Cluck and BC Rail rather than the CIA. Then the only thing he'd have to worry about would be John Van Dongen demanding a Conflict of Interest hearing.

Yep, defnite liability. God only knows how many people have died over the years from pathetic ageing men who couldn't resist the opportunity to get their dick wet one last time...and who were willing to betray their country just to keep their wife from finding out.
Good for him in resigning. After all he did break one of the 10 commandments. Commandment 6 (or 7 depending on the version) states "Thou shalt not commit adultery". That's a definite no-no for someone heading the most powerful intelligence agency in the world. A man of his stature should have known better, considering the scandal that former President Clinton went through.
One of these days the FBI will find out the dirt on public figure and he'll say "So what?" They'll make the usual blackmail security breech bs and they'll say "The wife knows. The kids know, the neighbours know, the preacher knows. So what? WTF is the matter with you people?"
I doubt it is about him sticking his d*ck somewhere. I would think that if he had mentioned it to his superiors, she would have been screened and an ok would have been given and damage control could have been done.
Her mistake was (or rumour has it that her mistake was) that she sent threatening emails to another woman (his next mistress?. Rumour also has it that the affair has been over for a few months.
I feel more sorry for his wife, who has not asked for all this bullshit, but has to deal with it. I sure hope she knew long before he resigned in this way.
