Given that lame excuse it sounds like General Petraeus should have been working for Christie Cluck and BC Rail rather than the CIA. Then the only thing he'd have to worry about would be John Van Dongen demanding a Conflict of Interest hearing.

Yep, defnite liability. God only knows how many people have died over the years from pathetic ageing men who couldn't resist the opportunity to get their dick wet one last time...and who were willing to betray their country just to keep their wife from finding out.

Good for him in resigning. After all he did break one of the 10 commandments. Commandment 6 (or 7 depending on the version) states "Thou shalt not commit adultery". That's a definite no-no for someone heading the most powerful intelligence agency in the world. A man of his stature should have known better, considering the scandal that former President Clinton went through.

I doubt it is about him sticking his d*ck somewhere. I would think that if he had mentioned it to his superiors, she would have been screened and an ok would have been given and damage control could have been done.

Her mistake was (or rumour has it that her mistake was) that she sent threatening emails to another woman (his next mistress?. Rumour also has it that the affair has been over for a few months.

I feel more sorry for his wife, who has not asked for all this bullshit, but has to deal with it. I sure hope she knew long before he resigned in this way.
