A man from the southern Ohio city of Cincinnati said he was so upset when he saw his landlord's poolside "White Only" sign that he believes was aimed at his black daughter that he could no longer live at his home.
He could have sued and won and stayed where he was, but the USA is a very "litigation friendly" country.
Aside, I know American perceptions on race range from somewhat to severly skewed, but technically speaking if the father is white, his daughter isn't "black", she is mixed race, biracial, etc.
I do not understand why it is going to take several months to come up with a ruling. It would appear to be an open and shut case. Further embarrassing to the city of Cincinnati is the fact that this case has taken over a year to come to trial.
It could be because they want to clear ruling, it would be even worse if they couldnt get a conviction due to a technicality which could later be exploited.
On a side note, where would someone in Cinci obtain such a sign? In the picture,it looks very old and authentic. Is there some underground market place for Jim Crow memorabila?

Not necessarily. The girl could have been adopted.

That possibility did pop into my mind, but biological parents out number adoptive ones so I figure the odds are in my favour.

Any city that'd elect Jerry Springer as Mayor has already been embarrased. True That! The fact that he is still on television in 2012 is an embarresment to the whole country.
