That was racist, but moving away seems quite extreme.

He could have sued and won and stayed where he was, but the USA is a very "litigation friendly" country.
Aside, I know American perceptions on race range from somewhat to severly skewed, but technically speaking if the father is white, his daughter isn't "black", she is mixed race, biracial, etc.

I would have pitched the sign, then talked to the landlord. If the racist would have bitched again, then I would have taken it to the authorities.

I do not understand why it is going to take several months to come up with a ruling. It would appear to be an open and shut case. Further embarrassing to the city of Cincinnati is the fact that this case has taken over a year to come to trial.

It could be because they want to clear ruling, it would be even worse if they couldnt get a conviction due to a technicality which could later be exploited.

On a side note, where would someone in Cinci obtain such a sign? In the picture,it looks very old and authentic. Is there some underground market place for Jim Crow memorabila?

It's probably something the guy saved in his desk for years, and thought he would get a good laugh if he put it up.

Happened in Ohio, aka the Mississippi of the north. Nothing surprising there at all unfortunately.

How about this one then Mom made the girl with a black man and later married the white man while she was either still pregnant or had just delivered the girl

Maybe the sign just meant seniors with natural hair only...?
