Drifting smoke from massive wildfires in Russia has pushed the ozone rating to never-before levels in parts of B.C., the provincial environment ministry says.
Yeah, the skies have been ugly for the last few days but at least there's some "good" news, the fires are burning in Siberia and not in the Ukraine, a fire near the old Chernobyl site could bring a lot more problems than hazy skies and a high ozone level.
Looking towards Grouse Mountain from Rocky Point Park in Pt Moody, even using binoculars you can just barely see the turbine which is usually quite obvious. And as a bonus, an Osprey nesting on the pilings.....
And I thought it was just Vancouver smog making my view of the North Shore mountains hazy...
I was surprised it's been hanging around since it's been so windy here.
Now I know why.
Yesterday I could barely make out the outline of The Lions and Grouse and could not at all see any mountains east of Grouse.
