And I thought it was just Vancouver smog making my view of the North Shore mountains hazy...

I was surprised it's been hanging around since it's been so windy here.

Now I know why.

This morning it was so fekin bad that I thought it was smog over the straits. It looked more like November out there than July.

Yeah, the skies have been ugly for the last few days but at least there's some "good" news, the fires are burning in Siberia and not in the Ukraine, a fire near the old Chernobyl site could bring a lot more problems than hazy skies and a high ozone level.

Playing havoc with tv, radio and Internet here. Nice cooling wind came in late this morning and blew the smoke away. My phones stopped ringing....

Looking towards Grouse Mountain from Rocky Point Park in Pt Moody, even using binoculars you can just barely see the turbine which is usually quite obvious. And as a bonus, an Osprey nesting on the pilings.....

I noticed my view of the mountains was much better this afternoon. Seems it is clearing.

Yesterday I could barely make out the outline of The Lions and Grouse and could not at all see any mountains east of Grouse.

Yeah, I was there for a couple hours and when I was leaving it was getting noticeably clearer.
