And the demons in Hell have another shreiking meat puppet to play with. Doing all those things was bad enough but it was understandable when viewing the direction Jew-hating was dragging European society towards. But very few of these murdering cowards ever had the courage to admit what they did. Typical of the worst sorts of bullies, all tough and proud when they've got a gun in their hands and are able to lord it over terrified people who can't fight back, but other than that they all turned into pure cowards when the boot got put on the other foot.
Should have lived longer to stand trial and justice. Sobibor if my memory serves me correct was one of the out and out death camps. Anyone involved and working in places like Sobibor, Treblinka or these outright death factories need to be brought to justice
There is no way a normal human being can work in a place where such terrible crimes were commited against fellow man and I don't see I was just following orders as an acceptable excuse.
But on the other hand we need people like Oskar Groening to relay the narrative of one of the worst human tragedies in modern day history as a lesson for mankind not to repeat.
Atleast Groening admits it all, unlike the coward Demjanjuk
Hope I don't offend anyone too much but I've long been opposed to convicting people on spurious evidence and this man was definitely convicted on spurious evidence.
I'm not saying he was innocent, I'm saying that there was not enough solid evidence to convict him of these crimes and even the Israeli Supreme Court said so.
The conviction of this man by the German courts on even less evidence than what Israel dismissed makes the conviction no more than a show-trial and, at best, it was a hollow victory because the principles of justice were discarded in order to assuage demands for blood.
"BartSimpson" said So it was never proven he worked at Sobibor ?
No, not at all. And the Nazi identity card that was used against him at one point was denounced by the US FBI as a forgery. I agree with you here, Bart.

Well, in your defense you're not saying anything that most people are saying and I'll give you credit for taking pause to consider the paucity of facts in this case.
Me, I would not want to be sent to prison based on such flimsy evidence and if we were talking about a bank robbery or a murder then this would never have been prosecuted on such scanty evidence.
The German judge expressed his own contempt for the evidence by sentencing Demjanjuk to time already served. Still, the man was wrongfully punished and he died in Germany instead of at home as he so rightfully deserved.
I wonder if any of the Jewish kapos that survived were ever tried as war criminals, or were they all gassed too? Demjanjk claimed he was a POW(a captured Red Army soldier, rather than a Ukrainian volunteer) only following orders from the Germans
