Two soldiers dead after SUV rolled off bridge near Brandon

Police say the SUV hit the guardrail, went over the bridge and landed on its roof, partially submerged in the creek. RCMP say a man sitting in the backseat crawled out and flagged down help.

I went on my BMQ with one of the soldiers killed in the first crash. Just got the phonecall about 15 minutes ago. He was easily the fittest and keenest guy on our course. Finished top in everything. To bad he didn't know a lick of french for the drill commands at our grad parade.

Rest in peace bro. I'm sorry to hear you're gone so soon. You will be missed.

Apparently 5 people died that night in various parts of the province. That ice blanket is deadly on the highways. Very sad.
