Sorry, Evan Lysacek. You’re a great skater and all. But that wasn’t Olympic champion material. In Thursday night’s men’s free skate, Lysacek skated slow and his jumps weren’t close to the technical ability of defending Olympic champion Evgeni Plu

It might be a bit of a cold war type comment but I'm glad that somebody from the west beat the Russian. He was more than a little a bit of an a-hole.

Interesting article. I didn't know that. All I knew was I'd surf by figure skating, watch for awhile, and think this is boring. It used to be better. Then I'd flip to another channel.

I'm not much of a figure sking aficianado either, but my wife is too and she said that a 19 year-old Czech kid named Michal Brezina was, in her opinion, BY FAR the best performer in the short program. But, alas, he's a kid who has not made a name for himself among the judges yet and he finished 9th. It's one thing for the guy who was best to finish 2nd, that can happen in a judged sport. But how can a guy who was as good or better than the guy in 1st finish 9th? It's not just a mockery of the Olympics (the Olympics is often to be mocked) but it's a mockery of honest competition.

The night they killed figure skating: when they let Johnny Weir dress like a tranvestite in a professional competition !! 8O

Wasn't Elvis Stojko who kicked Lindros' ass because he laughed at Stojko since he was a figure skater ?

Weir was a disgrace to all youth who wants to become figure skaters.
