I don't know much about figure skating, but my wife and her sisters do.. they all commented on the poor judging.. said it made a mockery of Olympics..
I'm not much of a figure sking aficianado either, but my wife is too and she said that a 19 year-old Czech kid named Michal Brezina was, in her opinion, BY FAR the best performer in the short program. But, alas, he's a kid who has not made a name for himself among the judges yet and he finished 9th. It's one thing for the guy who was best to finish 2nd, that can happen in a judged sport. But how can a guy who was as good or better than the guy in 1st finish 9th? It's not just a mockery of the Olympics (the Olympics is often to be mocked) but it's a mockery of honest competition.
