Where are the self appointed defenders of CPC corruption? Probably still in mourning after finding out their cherished leader is a briber.
Economic Cost of Federation for Alberta, 1961 – Present
Alberta has, on a per capita basis, been Ottawa's largest single contributor. For example, between 1961 and 1992, Alberta paid $139 billion more to Ottawa than it received back from Ottawa. That is what it cost Albertans to be Canadian.

And where did the money go? During that time frame, the province of Quebec, despite its large population and vibrant economy, was a net recipient of over $ 168 billion from Ottawa. Alberta was paying Quebec to be Canadian. *

I've been told that equilization payments are about helping the atlantic provinces, I always supported this idea. However, Ottawa has been selling us a pack of lies.
As a resident of Quebec, I want, from the bottom of my heart, to thank all those Conservative-voting sheeple for making this possible.
honestly the liberals are just bitter there ridings aren't geting all this funding instead.
Being that the city lobbied a lot to get more money in the last years because it wanted (and still wants) to make it a huge happening (so far it's going okay but not really as well as it was said it would), the disproportionate funding actually might just be justified.
Not sure how much of an impact this actually has however, and chances are it can't explain such a large gap. Methinks we'd need numbers on the 2 years of Harper government to see if it's really biased towards its own ridings (as they're fairly much concentrated in QC). Obviously that's if the govt lasts all 4 years of its mandate, of course.
and voting Librano would make a difference
That's the point. Harper campaigned on "change". So why is Quebec - and particularly CPC ridings in Quebec - still getting a disproportionate amount of "handouts"?What change are you looking for? The government to not give money out?
The change everyone is looking for - to see the money going where it's needed, not as a reward for voting in the correct MP.
Before we start slinging barbs at the conservatives, it might do us good to recall a little riding in Quebec named Shawinigan under Jean Chrentien's government!
That said, I don't like it.
