Wait a minute now. Harper promised he would clean all this up. No more political corruption.

Where are the self appointed defenders of CPC corruption? Probably still in mourning after finding out their cherished leader is a briber.

Here's what the Ottawa has been doing for quebec...

$1:

Economic Cost of Federation for Alberta, 1961 – Present

Alberta has, on a per capita basis, been Ottawa's largest single contributor. For example, between 1961 and 1992, Alberta paid $139 billion more to Ottawa than it received back from Ottawa. That is what it cost Albertans to be Canadian.
*
And where did the money go? During that time frame, the province of Quebec, despite its large population and vibrant economy, was a net recipient of over $ 168 billion from Ottawa. Alberta was paying Quebec to be Canadian. *

* Source: Dr. Robert Mansell and Ronald Schlenker, "The Provincial Distribution of Federal Fiscal Balances," Canadian Business Economics 3:2 (Winter, 1995), 3-21

I've been told that equilization payments are about helping the atlantic provinces, I always supported this idea. However, Ottawa has been selling us a pack of lies.

As a resident of Quebec, I want, from the bottom of my heart, to thank all those Conservative-voting sheeple for making this possible.

What makes us sheeple any more than you voting NDP? I like what the party represents, how does that make me a "sheeple"?

In all fairness, there's one thing this article doesn't speak of : Quebec City's 400th. And where do you think most CPC seats are in the province of Quebec? Quebec City.

Being that the city lobbied a lot to get more money in the last years because it wanted (and still wants) to make it a huge happening (so far it's going okay but not really as well as it was said it would), the disproportionate funding actually might just be justified.

Not sure how much of an impact this actually has however, and chances are it can't explain such a large gap. Methinks we'd need numbers on the 2 next years of Harper government to see if it's really biased towards its own ridings (as they're fairly much concentrated in QC). Obviously that's if the govt lasts all 4 years of its mandate, of course.

That's the point. Harper campaigned on "change". So why is Quebec - and particularly CPC ridings in Quebec - still getting a disproportionate amount of "handouts"?
What change are you looking for? The government to not give money out?

The change everyone is looking for - to see the money going where it's needed, not as a reward for voting in the correct MP.
Is this money not going where it's needed? My guess is that Conservative ridings have a direct path to Harpers ear, therefore they are going to get money before a riding with another party.

Before we start slinging barbs at the conservatives, it might do us good to recall a little riding in Quebec named Shawinigan under Jean Chrentien's government!

No no. That was simply a good MP working for his riding but this is unparalelled corruption, the likes of which Canada has never seen before... or that's what they'd have you believe.

That said, I don't like it.
