Woman ‘disgusted’ by porn on bar TV

Assault? Assault is unwanted touching. But, to classify as assault, she needs to tell them to stop touching her. And if they continue, then it is assault. Somebody touching your shoulders is not assault no matter how you want to spin it. Until they are told to stop touching you.

Totally amounts to assault and sexual harrassment....where the hell was the bouncers, cant tell me that it was on for 5 - 10 minutes without staff knowing...probably friends of the idiots that where doing it all.

Yes, terrible. The woman was clearly harrassed. IF these guys want to watch porn, they could do so at home, or online like everyone else.

I think the title doesn't really fit the story Imo it was not so much the porn on the TV that disgusted her, as well as the reactions... She turned her back to the TV, which is a good solution, but what got her to go out of the bar were the men grabbing her and trying to let her do things she didn't want to...

I would never want to be grabbed from behind let alone try and be forced to watch something. I always ask first I never just grab people. Although most women I think like to dance and none have turned me down so far. Why is there porn playing at a pub though? I never heard or seen a pub that does this.

I read the article, I'm still trying to figure out where anonymous got the idea she claimed to be assaulted. I only see her claiming sexual harassment, which is evident.

At the very least unlawfull detention, but assualt and sexual harrassment defently come into play here also.

I'm no law expert but do you not need to cause harm for it to be assault or at least lead to bodily harm?

I have spent my time in bars and seldom met anyone I would invite into my house.

Back in the day when I installed satellite dishes and chipped decoders, there were always porn channels that could be viewed in the bars etc. Most smart bar owners would quickly size up the feeling that his clients had and would be very quick to turn off the porn if it offended women. That is mostly because it is the women who draw the men to the bars, and if you piss them off they go away, and all you have left is a buch of inebriated man, who are horny and will then go to bars where the woman are now hanging out at.

Maybe things have changed some from those times, but I do not see any smart bar owner letting anything like this happen. If it happened by his employees while he was out, then there should be some job openings happening at that place today. That would go along way to say to the women, that they can feel safe there, and that means he is going to go for the gold in the end of all this. Or he can mishandle this and take the mens side, and go broke wondering why.
