China says Canada needs to be aware of the consequences of aiding the United States in a case involving the Chinese tech giant Huawei that is believed to have sparked the detentions of two Canadians in China.
Yup. Whether the US and China are arguing or having make-up sex, Canada takes the jizz on the head.
Wear a giant condom to protect yourself. Then ship it to some Asian country as garbage to be recycled. They will send the garbage back to you but it might be cleaned up and reusable by then.
Caving into threats from China will simply tell the Chinese that they actually control Canada. Next will follow more demands because that's what those fuckers do.

The same could be said for caving to American demands. Canada is in the ultimate no-win.

China / The Chinese already control Burnaby, Delta, New Westminster, North Vancouver, Richmond, Surrey, South Surrey, Vancouver, West Vancouver and White Rock.

Reports that Huawei cancelling U.S. meetings, sending home American employees
The ironic thing about this whole kerfuffle is that China has banned/censored dozens of Western social media companies to the point they can no longer operate in China. Yet, the second a nation does that to a Chinese company, tantrums erupt from them.

There are a lot of ironies here. Like the US complaining about China spying on them, with the NSA listening in on the conversation. Or the US complaining about build up in the South China Sea, while running destroyers through waters of other countries it deems 'international waters' while the country considers 'internal waters'. See: North West Passage.
Seems to me, the best way for the US to convince China to play by international law, is to do so itself.
A little reminder of what started the ball rolling with Huawei and do pay attention to the second paragraph as it is actually far more important than the first one...
US prosecutors unsealed a pair of indictments against Huawei on Monday, escalating the Trump administration's battle with the Chinese smartphone giant. One of the indictments also names Meng Wanzhou—Huawei's chief financial officer and the daughter of the company's founder—and accuses her and the company of selling US technology to Iran in violation of US sanctions laws.
The other indictment charges Huawei with stealing cell phone testing technology from T-Mobile. And Huawei is accused of stealing the technology in the most literal sense: according to the indictment, a Huawei employee entered a T-Mobile testing lab, put a proprietary robot arm into his laptop bag, and walked out. The heist was the final step in Huawei's increasingly aggressive efforts to learn how T-Mobile's smartphone testing system works.
Yup. Industrial theft. That's the way China has structured their economy though, they can't grow unless they steal from everyone else. If they played by the rules everyone else does, they wouldn't have to do that.
Playing by the rules is in everyone's best interest. Why have rules otherwise?
Canada is the grass.
'When two elephants fight, the grass suffers. When two elephants make love, the grass suffers" - Old Sri Lankan proverb.
Canada is the grass.
So Canada either gets stained with blood or love juice.
