The same situation over and over, and this country continued with the same answer, interventionalism, socialism and a bleak future:
Statistics Canada's November employment survey shows yet another monthly decline in the more-desirable category of full-time work -- a figure more than offset by a gain in part-time jobs.
The report says the market added 19,400 part-time jobs last month and shed 8,700 full-time positions.
Compared with November 2015, Canada gained 183,200 jobs overall for an increase of 0.1 per cent -- but over that period full-time work fell by 30,500 positions, while the part-time category piled up an additional 213,700 jobs.
How are part-time workers going to spend when they retire with peanuts for a a pension? How about discretionary income that they DON'T have and can't spend to support other industries?
All of this BEFORE NAFTA gets ripped up. If the economy is doing so well, the BOC should raise interest rates. I dare you!
"martin14" said Wow, a few part time jobs for the Christmas rush.
Trudeau saved us !
It's not his job to save us, it's the job of the free market. These clowns are either at the trough or are state patsies, so of course they aren't going to be successful. Give them tax dollars they can show a "profit" (which just means suffering for future generations, tell them to compete and hire the best and brightest and they get crushed.
The best thing he could do would be to make deep cut to the RCMP and deep cuts to Ontario provincial transfer payments. Do that and you might see an improvement in the economy. Many of the clowns at the TPS and OPP for instance just represent a Communist regulation against hard working citizens who want to contribute.
