Pretty sure this home-schooled rural bible-thumper...
...has accomplished more than you have?
Anyone who'd vote for a 19 year-old, of any political stripe, has a short memory for how little they understood about the world when they were a teenager. I wouldn't hire a 19 year-old to wash my car, let alone represent me in government. Fools. You deserve what you get.
Queen Victoria did okay.
The Trump effect is landing in Canada!
Did you read the article past "19 year old Conservative?"

Like the Brits had a choice.

I wonder if you're the same type of person saying kids need to get a job these days. Bitching how young people are "lazy" when they can't get hired.

The Brits always have a choice. They don't often choose to exercise it like they did with the Brexit.

Getting elected as a backbencher by your local church group isn't much of an accomplishment, but he's just started his first year of university, which makes him more accomplished than a lot of the righties on this site.
the draw backs of our electoral system. We tend to vote for parties, not people that's how a 18 YO NDP Quebec representative won a few years ago with out even stepping into the riding once. When there are no great candidates or perhaps NO candidates, sometimes crap like this happens.
Interestingly enough, some might consider party leader Patrick Brown the Trump of Ontario politics, given that he was a party outsider who swept to power on an unexpected wave of new member votes, upsetting the party establishment candidates . And kind of likeTrump, Brown first paid lip service to the religious right then threw them under the bus when it was time to pivot towards the general public (see: Ontario sex ed flip-flop). This Oosterhoff kid beat the guy Brown had hand-picked for this riding and who was supposed to be a shoo-in. Analysis so far is that this kid's election was backlash from the ridings christian vote, which is strong for the area.
