The day after Canada’s announcement, Mexico’s foreign minister said her government was ready to sit down and discuss NAFTA as well.

    Smart idea, and it was lead by Trudeau. Regardless of what some of you think about him, he approached this properly. You get ahead of it and try and salvage NAFTA, because the word is that Trump is interested in bilateral agreements rather than these unilateral trade agreements.

    Canada will lose a great deal when it's renegotiated. Especially with the prevailing and accurate opinion that Canada can't be trusted. I can't speak to other nations and how they abuse trade (other than China which has been a clear currency manipulator and corporate spy for decades, but I can say Canada doesn't seem as serious as it should. I believe now it will.

    You don't lecture and you don't expect to be lectured to. We will lose something with this nomination, but it may shake up the apparatus and expand our innovations and freedoms so that we can model and become the world leader in civil liberties, which ALWAYS lead to economic benefit...I can only hold my breath...
