NIGEL FARAGE has revealed that Donald Trump will re-install a bust of Winston Churchill removed from the Oval Office by Barack Obama - in a clear sign of the friendship the new President wishes to foster with Britain.

The events of 1956 in Egypt should have disabused any sensible Briton of the benefits of the 'special relationship', but it's one of those delusions that will not die.

More Conservative lies. These people are incapable of dealing honestly on any level.

No, Donald Trump won't be 'returning a bust of Winston Churchill to the White House' - here's why

The White House residence has had a bust of Churchill by British Sculptor Sir Jacob Epstein since the 1960s, and it's never seen the inside of the Oval.

When it was taken away for a refurb some time around 2001, Tony Blair offered George W Bush another, similar bust by the same artist, as a loaner. Dubya decided to keep it in the Oval.

After four years, by which time the original bust had been returned, Mr Bush decided he rather liked having a pair of them, and when we offered to extend the loan, he agreed.

...When any new president is elected, they have the opportunity to redecorate the Oval Office. Most do, and have been known to make quite drastic changes.

As a matter of routine, the White House Curator's office removes and returns all on-loan artwork before the new President turns up.

Obama didn't change the desk or the rug. But he did choose his own artworks, just as Bush had eight years previously.

And he replaced it with a bust of Martin Luther King?
    Again, not really.

Mr Obama did bring in a bust of MLK as part of his refurb, but it didn't directly replace the bust of Churchill.

The actual table which had the Churchill bust on it - to the right of the Oval Office fireplace - is currently home to a rather fine bust of Abraham Lincoln.

Except there's something you forgot, oh great teller of truths.

It begins with clicking the link. If you had done that you would have seen it was Obama on video telling the story of why he replaced the Churchill statue in the Oval office with one of Martin Luther King 8 years ago. If there's one of Lincoln there now good on that, but it doesn't change the words out of Barry's own mouth.

Also you would have seen the Daily Express was simply quoting Nigel Farage after his visit with Trump saying, "At the end of our time with Trump we asked him if the bust of Sir Winston Churchill that Obama had removed from the Oval Office could be put back in its rightful place. He enthusiastically thought that was a good idea. Need I say more?"

But I'm not going to call you a liar. It's not a lie just because you didn't bother to check the facts. Kind of stupid though.
