Legendary Canadian musician Leonard Cohen has died at the age of 82, according to a Facebook post on his official fan page. His music label Sony Music Canada has also confirmed the news.
"shockedcanadian" said Always used to hear him at a coffee shop I would frequent to study years ago. Never knew who it was until years later, such a distinctive voice.
His version of Hallelujah might be my favourite.
RIP
Thought he was the one who wrote it?
Very sad news. Of all the artists who have passed this year, this one bothers me the most.

I don't know if he wrote it or not, I've heard so many versions of it and I'm not too informed about his music by name, though I would recognise the songs if I heard them.

A national treasure lost. Maybe the most important poet in our nation's history.
I don't want to pick a favourite. Lightfoot is pretty damn good too.
Sang it with kd lang once, stupendous version.
He'll be missed.
Closing Time another good one. Don't forget Suzanne

I'm not crazy about Cohen's singing voice, but loved the lyrics of his songs and his poetry. And I did like his speaking voice.
He will be missed!
