The Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal "is not going to fly anyway," said Mulroney and instead has urged the government to negotiate bilateral agreements with other countries.

Wow, he just lost a great deal of credibility when he says this:

?That?s why I?ve been urging the government of Canada to negotiate bilateral agreements with China, India and so on,? he said. ?Canada?s fine, but we have to get out there and hustle and do some more of these bilateral trade agreements.?

So instead of a deal with Japan, Austrailia and others, he suggests we go and chase to the bottom by dealing with low wage, mass labour markets like China and India?

He and Chretien should hang out together, two peas in the same pod. Sidewinder Affair cost Canada dearly. Jean should be facing some sort of court for his underhanded dealing.
