Read 'Mike Babcock isn’t standing for Don Cherry’s goalie poop' on Yahoo Sports Canada. On Saturday night, venerable Hockey Night in Canada commentator Don Cherry ripped the Toronto Maple Leafs’ goaltending, praising the departed James Reimer (a.k.a. a go
Cherry was a relic who had some use in the 1980's when the Cold War was in full force. Now...I turn the channel and put on the Weather Channel when Coaches Corner begins.
I can definitely live without Cherry's bombastic rantings and ravings, he's just too loud and too opinionated for my taste....even if he may know what he's talking about once in a while!
"xerxes" said It's a poor choice. Loud mouthed schnook at the 1st intermission, or know-nothing schnooks during the second...
This.
Ron McLean is the only one in Coaches Corner I miss. He has reasonable thoughts and carries himself with class. Seems like the prototypical Canadian, we could use more like him.
I won't deny at one time I found Cherry entertaining and his support for the troops is unmatched; for that reason alone I cut him alot of slack. To me his ship has sailed, though I respect his passion (with a big paycheque), I just choose to not follow him.
Don's done more for the sport of hockey than 99% of the population, and definitely knows more about the game than simpletons like yourself.

Agreed, but I also agree with Shocky, I do my best to avoid Coach's Corner.

I tend to avoid watching the Leafs but do tune into Coaches Corner, which is much better than Kelly Hrudey and company during the second intermission.
