Edmonton bylaw officers are fuming after an Edmonton Oilers pre-game video prominently featured player Jordan Eberle dangling his feet over the "End of the World," something they have worked to discourage for years.

Jack up the fines then. Make 'em high enough that the average jackass might be far less willing to take the risk.

I'm not sure what's below that, if nothing, why not just bring in a back hoe and push it over, clean it up, problem solved.

Must be some historic value to it maybe.

There is nothing below it, but the entire site is an unstable bank. Just reinforcing it to handle the equipment to take it down properly (not just pitch it down the bank and into the river) and clean up, would cost a sizeable sum.

    So it sits, with signs.

FYI, here is a link to the City's page on what they hope to do with the site:

Although it is still listed as a current project, with all of the trail maintenance issues, it might get dropped from current to future.

This scene was removed by projectionists under authority from Touchstone Pictures when people were killed and seriously injured trying to imitate a stunt from "The Program" (1993)

It's not like Oilers fans are going to repeat what they saw in the video the same way some movie fans did after watching the Program.

Is that the same area where a house on top of the embankment slid into the river?

End of the world is about 5km NE of Ramsay Heights, same side of the river.
