Health bucks can't defray patient parking: NDP

No money for hearth care either, but take a look out front of the Red Deer hospital and you'll see a brand new 4 story, $50M parkade, they just took the wrapper off it.

There's no government in the country that would get rid of an easy $75 million a year in parking revenue. We're lucky that they even offer discount weekly and monthly passes at the hospitals for people visiting patients that are in there long-term. I know they got at least $200 out of me in 2015 for the times I went to see my mom. It's a scam but what the fuck isn't these days.

I'm not sure if it's still the same but at one time in Red Deer, if you were going to be visiting 6 hours or more during the week, it was cheaper to buy a week pass.

I think it's a necessary evil, if it's free or to cheap, people will abuse it and park there all day. Got to keep the rotation going so everyone can find a spot.
