He was speaking to his friend in Turkish and said he moved to another part of the coffee shop out of respect for two other patrons sitting near him. But the reception was best on the patio, so he returned to that seat. He said two men, one older man drinking a can of beer and holding a six-pack and a second middle-aged man were talking and pointing at him, he said.
Demir told the older man he shouldn’t be drinking beer in a public place and said he would get drunk because it was so hot out.
Getting in someone face who's drinking and telling them how to live their lives will usually get you a punch in the head so this is crime of arrogance on his part and drunken assault on their part but in no way shape or form is this a hate crime.
