Good trade off. We get higher tourism and they take our meat. Works for me.

The Mexicans won't be coming as tourists. They'll be coming to stay.

    That's presumptuous.

Those with the resources to fly to Canada aren't looking to stay here. Furthermore, unless they qualify for asylum, why would they try?

We'll get lots of phony refugee applications again. But as long as the deal makes Alberta happy, it's all good.

    I'm from Ontario. It's a great deal for us, a win/win.

Not at all. The and movements both hold as a matter of principle that all of the one-time Spanish land claims by right of inheritance belong to Mexicans and their descendants.

Look at the Spanish claims on the western part of North America and you'll see that this includes much of what is now BC.

The more virulent of the racist elements of the Reconquista movement are expressed in La Voz de Aztlan (The Voice of Aztlan), an openly anti-Semitic hate site that frequently posts articles claiming BC as rightfully belonging to Mexicans.

I had a topic on here some years back that extensively documented several Mexican groups and politicians documenting their claims on BC and celebrating the growing Mexican population in BC and you are welcome to look for it.

In any case, you're now aware of this racist movement which advocates ethnic cleansing and in case you refuse to believe them...

    http://www.africanamerica.org/topic/lat ... cans-in-la

And the US Federal Government has now put about 60 Mexicans in prison for ethnic cleansing charges.

    These people are not joking.

Granted, not all Mexicans are like this. Some of them are awesome people. But most polls show about 55%-65% of Mexicans and Mexican-Americans believe that all of the one-time Spanish claims are their rightful inheritance and the Mexican government consistently pursues policies that align with this sentiment.

The Mexican insistence on Canada allowing Mexicans into Canada without limit is an expression of that sentiment.

But since they're coming be on the look out for some good Mexican food - be sure to ask them for a carnitas chimichanga!

For every thing there is a season, even for quoting Scripture.

Wow that T Bone steak that I can't afford to buy because the beef market is already so good, just went up a couple $$ a lb. today.

The price of steak didn't go up. The value of the loonie went down.
