Great caption! Thanks!
Seriously?
I wrote a dystopian short story where peak oil has occurred and one of the steps government took was to confiscate gas powered lawnmowers - because I thought it was one of the most absurd actions a government could take.
While the government is confiscating anyone's mower, this is just as ridiculous.
Mostly because of the Peeps who also have chainsaws.

Just wait.
The EU is now regulating things like hair dryers and vacuum cleaners, saying the ones on the
market now are too powerful.
Looks like the Liberals are following the 1984 playbook rather well.

Just to be clear, this has already been the market standard for years in the US, where most of our mowers come from and we don't want Canada to be a dumping ground. There's no "lawnmower police" because they're not coming to take away anything, it's just going forward stores won't be able to sell new ones tha don't meet the standard.
And there's no loss to the consumer a more fuel efficient mower is a benefit to you, not a loss, it's not like someone buying a new mower would have to downgrade to a lower performance or anything. And once again, nobody's forcing you to give up the one you already have.
Just bought a new one last week...everytime we wanted to mow it has rained.
My new one is a push reel mower. Works great in the rain.
For full disclosure, though, I kind of wish I had sported for the power model (optional run), as I have to hit the lawn at an absolute minimum of twice a week. Any less and the grass gets tall enough to bog the reel mower down very quickly. And, it isn't the best for any thickly weeded areas. Dandelion stalks just seem to gum it right up. Could be how I use it and adjust it though. Still new, haven't worked out all the little nuances.

They still make those ?
Ive been seeing them in Canadian Tire for about 15 years now. I think they made a comeback when the Green movement started to catch on.
Great if you have a postage stamp for a lawn like most city houses do. Not so much fun when you have a couple acres.

Are you trying to ruin my fun because that is never a good idea when my Warning is running out soonish.

Very, very true.
I didn't even entertain the though until my wife decided to redo the yard eco-friendly. Now, I don't have to mow approx 75% of it.
If we hadn't made that change, I would still be using my old Toro, or a newer gas powered model.
