Former Toronto Maple Leafs head coach John Brophy died on Monday. He was 83.

I remember waiting outside old Maple Leaf gardens after a game and getting his and Russ Courtnalls autograph.

An interesting character who unfortunately had the fate to be drawn into that Harold Ballard circus of idiocy that surrounded the Leafs at the time.
