A year to the day after the cargo ship MV Marathassa spilled several thousand litres of bunker fuel into Vancouver's English Bay, concerns remain about the region's ability to put together a coordinated clean-up response.

    And still people can't understand why we on the coast don't want increased tanker traffic until we are damn well prepared.

    Just heard a report on CKNW that the Marathassa owners haven't coughed up so much a nickel towards that cleanup after a whole year.
