A very sad day for her family, friends and colleagues.

It seems that her passing was quick though and that she did not suffer.

    andy and his stereotyping.

He must already be guilty because he drives a pickup, which that act makes him an automatic yahoo, cross-burning redneck.

    RIP Constable Beckett

FRom the op: "Eyewitness says officer may have been trying to cut off a speeding truck when it hit her cruiser"

I said nothing about burning crosses, not sure what recess of your mind that came from. But he's a yahoo, as pickup drivers often are.

C'mon, andy. You'd be having a shit-fit if someone posted "He's a terrorist, as Muslims often are."

Not really. It it becomes all Muslims are terrorists or sympathizers, yes I have a problem with that. Maybe saying terrorists are often Muslims is more accurate. As is yahoos often drive pickups.

I find the biggest collection of yahoos are older, bicycle riding, lower mainland, pretentious trolls.

Thanks for proving me right again.

And andy immediately responds trying to say he is not that way. The biggest hypocrite on this site.

Sure because a guy on a bicycle would have smashed in the cop's car just the same.

You don't have to kill anyone to be an asshole, but I know you know that, you're just being deliberately obtuse. A trait common to left-wing trolls.

"Often", by itself, is a meaningless measurement.

In my experience, Yahoos often drive Jap 4-bangers with coffee-can exhaust modifications.

Where I live, most everyone drives pickups, Yahoos and none-Yahoos alike.

I am absolutely sorry for the passing of the officer but kindly forgive me if I'm not immediately ready to pillory the truck driver.

In California we've had too many cops die because they were too busy looking at their computer screen to notice they were blowing through a red light. If the officer's car had a dashcam and it isn't made public then I'd be suspect that she blew the red light.

The accusations against the truck driver might just be well-meaning people getting on the proverbial bandwagon to bash on the truck driver.

So, yeah, I'll wait for the investigation and any prosecution to conclude before I pass judgment on the truck driver.

We used to have those, but they've mostly disappeared. Maybe that's the difference between urban and rural. Here, if you see a vehicle roaring around, lighting up the tires, it's most often a pickup. Even the muscle car drivers seem to keep it under control. I would guess you have your share of yahoos, but if most everyone drives pickups, they don't stand out so much.
