The Liberal government forecasts a $10-billion boost in revenues by having tax collectors get more aggressive about tax havens and tax debts. But critics say it's risky to count on that money when the Canada Revenue Agency has such a weak record in chasin
Which is why the budget contains money to beef up CRA's enforcement capablity. I just hope they really mean it this time, it's not just show. A few publicized cases big wins would do a lot to give the rest of the high rollers pause. And go after the enablers too. Despicable that KPMG has not been charged in the most recent case, but instead was there chumming it up with the Cons.
I think they may have some scraps on their hands, trying to close those tax loopholes.
