NHL GM meetings: Potential expansion draft plans presented

The NHL presented its plans for a potential expansion draft to GMs on Wednesday morning. Essentially, teams would risk losing one player under a one-team expansion and a pair in a two-team scenario.

If there is going to be expansion one of the teams better be bringing backthe Quebec Nordiques.

I'm looking at this:

Teams under the current framework could protect seven forwards, three defencemen and one goaltender or eight skaters and a goaltender. First and second year pros in any league are automatically exempt as are unsigned draft picks.

thinking about my team and thinking 'Hmmm...our Canucks could handle that, I think, but what about the other teams?'

It'll end up in Las Vegas.

I'd love to head down for a weekend and catch a game while doing the usual Vegas thing.

Players would love it too.
