The RCMP in New Brunswick is misleading the public with the claim that every patrol vehicle in the province has a carbine firearm, say Mounties who have yet to be trained on the high-powered weapon and cannot use it.
They don't have them in every car here either. I listened to a response by 3 RCMP to a violent domestic AND A 4th member from the highway patrol offered his services if the situation needed a Carbine.
Last summer they had a real bad guy cornered, 15 to 20 cops and not one carbine.

Our police haven't militarized to the extent that yours have. Up until recently the carbines were something only really used by the military or special weapons teams in urban police forces. They have a C8 at the detachment here but only one member has taken the course on its use. Other members are familiar with pistols and shotguns only, and have only 'played' with the carbine at the gravel pit where they do their practice.

Weird. I know for a fact that some Canadian SWAT teams are way ahead of much of the US in terms of their tools and skill sets. Strange that your street troopers are behind on rifles.

That's the problem, they're not trained yet.
