Shoe with foot inside found at Botanical Beach

A B.C. family visiting the west coast of Vancouver Island over the weekend found a shoe with a dismembered foot inside — the latest in a series of similar discoveries throughout the region since 2007.

They are not severed, they are dis-articulated. As the body decomposes, the feet become separated and the buoyant shoes bring them to the surface and keep them somewhat preserved. There is not some crazy foot lopper somewhere.

That said, I really get a kick out of these stories.

*edit Oh the article says that. Next time I'll read it.
