Dennis Wideman suspended for 20 games by NHL for hitting linesman

Calgary Flames defenceman Dennis Wideman has been suspended for 20 games by the NHL following a hearing with league officials. Wideman hit linesman Don Henderson from behind during a game on Jan. 27.

I actually thought that he'd be suspended for the rest of the season... I guess the fact that this is his first offense played a big role in the number of games.

When I looked at the video of the hit, I saw someone taking out his frustration on the first thing that got in his way... either it was because he thought a penalty should have been called or he was hurting.
