Some government-sponsored Syrian refugees staying at a budget hotel in Toronto say they feel like they're "trapped in a prison" without hope due to a lack of communication, supplies and assistance.

A publicity stunt that provided photo ops, rather than a well thought out plan.

Not for all the refugees though. Some are feeling welcome and free.

Could definitely have used some better planning though.

There was no need to rush it as much as they did. The promise to do it by Christmas was idiotic and poorly thought out. They should have left themselves enough time to do it properly. If some of the refugees want to go back home (let them) it couldn't have been all that dire for them.

Many of them had been living in camps in safe areas for years. There was no threat to those living in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey. But hey, packing them in willy nilly and opening the flood gates works so well, just as Germany and France.
