Man who extorted sex from teens pleads guilty to 24 charges halfway through trial

A resident of the Ahuntsic-Cartierville borough who sexually assaulted and extorted sex from several teenage girls brought his trial to an abrupt end on Wednesday after deciding to plead guilty to half of the charges he faced.

Walid Mustapha Chalhoub, 33, made the surprise decision while his trial, on 48 charges in all, was in its second week. When it started on Jan. 5, prosecutor Rachelle Pitre estimated the trial would last at last three weeks. But on Wednesday Chalhoub, who was detained, arrived at the courthouse and opted to plead guilty to 24 of the charges, including several counts of sexual assault and extortion. Later in the day, he was sentenced to an 11-year prison term.

The guilty pleas apply to all 10 of the victims that Chalhoub was accused of abusing. He sexually abused eight teenage girls after they were lured to his apartment on the promise they’d make easy money for unspecified work. The girls, between the ages of 15 and 17, signed the vague contracts but were quickly informed, by Chalhoub that the agreements called for them to have sex with him or they’d have to pay a penalty — for example $3,500. He was also charged with threatening a 16-year-old girl who refused to have sex with him and with sexually assaulting an 18-year-old woman he had dated for a while.

Pitre told reporters she was satisfied with the 11-year sentence even though she had recommended a 12-year prison term. While delivering the sentence, Quebec Court Judge Serge Boisvert said the victims “were still children” when Chalhoub abused them and warned him that if he returned to court in a similar case in the future he might end up with an indeterminate prison term.

Pitre said with the conviction, and lengthy prison term, the federal government is now expected to seek to have Chalhoub deported. According to court records, Chalhoub, a citizen of Côte d’Ivoire, has resided in Canada since at least 2007 but never became a Canadian citizen.

It's always the Muslims. Nobody else in Canada does this sort of thing. Thank God we have FD to alert us to the danger.

In this case it is a Moslem and he's following the same pattern that hundreds and perhaps thousands of Moslems demonstrated in the UK.

And as the investigation goes forward he won't be the only Moslem that gets prosecuted for raping and abusing these children.

Note that I say this with absolute certainty.

I'm sure you're right. They'll take their place alongside all the non-muslims who do the same in Canada. If we're going to post every case of sex abuse and exploitation on this forum, there won't be much room for anything else.

But I know - OMG Islam

Funny how any Gun related event in Canada andyt and his ilk cry about and blame the American Gun Culture for being the cause of the problem.

Yet here we are talking about a Muslim charged with rape and exploitation of children and andyt attempts to make it sound like it is the norm in Canada and that we should not be focused on the culture that helped foster this crime.

The deflection is strong in this one. Unfortunately the deflection angle is similar to the angle of the dangle and has become ineffectual.

Deflection, hah. Cherry picking crimes by Muslims doesn't need much deflection. FD must have sites that aggregate that stuff.

But I know - because Islam.

The sexual abuse of women and children is a thoroughly documented aspect of Islam. Wiki has several pages on it and the UN has several agencies that have documented it, as well.

    And you're right; Because Islam.

Why wouldn't I? Counter-jihadi, counter-prog, counter-warmist catastrophist, counter-BS in general, pro-free speech - I like all that stuff. What are you hoping for? An apology. Dream on prog-boy.

I go where I can read stories collected by people who think like me. Don't like it?

I also read the crap you and yours are indoctrinated by. PDT_Armataz_01_30 That's what makes me different from you. I'm aware of both sides.

Now as to cherry-picking, what are you saying? I can't know about stories involving the heinous crimes PC favored groups commit, or I can't present them for others to read?

    Either way, get stuffed.

Don't want to know about such things? Don't click. Stay ignorant if you like. No sweat off my ass.
