Shooting at Ten Nightclub on Sunday described by witness

And here after years of the Vancouver News, I always assumed gangs targeted their victims. So, going into a nightclub and starting to shoot wildly into the crowd seems to indicate another motive.

There have been Mohammed names in gang reports before, but in the longer past the foreign sounding names have been more Gill or Johal - ish when we finally hear them from the media. I started hearing the Mohammedan names about last year.

What does it mean? Nothing yet. It happens in many immigrant groups historically. But if the rule of the increasing Muslim demographic holds true - meaning as the Muslim demographic increases the evidence of enemy aggression to Western society becomes more and more undeniable - we should start to see stuff begin around now.

2 more percent and we'll be at the level the media has to start calling the Muslims "Asians" or "Youths," like they do in Europe, because if they don't the trends will start to sway the public's understanding.

I won't be surprised if it's a couple of wannabe jihadis. Realistically speaking though it's most like just part of the gang turf war that's been happening in Calgary for well over a year. Scum of all races have been merrily ventilating each other with handguns for months now over the drug trade. It's no where near as memorable as the biker wars in Quebec and Ontario were a decade or so back but it is something that erupts in Calgary every few years or so. It's cyclical because our wonderful city council does things like strip the budget from the police department's anti-gang section, then acts shocked when within a few months gang activity wildly increases. Then they "generously" restore the police budget. The gang activity declines which then leads to council stripping the budget again because "there isn't any gang activity in Calgary so what do you guys need an anti-gang section for?". Gang crime goes back up, etc. etc. etc. rinse, lather, repeat.

Calgary is subject to the whims of probably the worst city council in the entire country. I'm amazed that the place still functions. I'll credit the various departments for that because the council, especially since Saint Nenshi came onto the scene, couldn't find their asses with both hands and a flashlight.

Sure but, not normally named Mohamed Elmi, 31, and Mohamed Salad, 29. As, for them being in a gang, I find it strange that members of a gang task force just happened to be sitting across the street from a nightclub if they didn't have credible evidence that a gang related issue was likely to unfold especially since nightclubs normally don't serve doughnuts.

You find it strange that a gang taskforce would be sitting outside a nightclub? I find you finding it strange strange. And maybe these guys were in a gang, but nobody has said so up to now.

Sorry, I just read the CTV story and it's a little more clear as to what the police were doing across the street. The were conducting a patrol not sitting around waiting. So it may just have been the proverbial fluke that they were at that place at that time.

As for their names, given today's headlines allow me to point out that when you hear of Muslims opening fire on crowded venues, what's the first thing that goes through your mind and it sure as fuck isn't some gangbanger from Calgary looking to make his chops.

So were they terrorists, gang members or just a couple of wild and crazy guys? At this point it's anyone's guess but I'll bet that because of their names CSIS has been called to help with the investigation.

It's not terrorism. There is no political gain... Those guys in Oregon occupying the wildlife center fit the definition of terrorist better. It's probably an on going beef these shits have with someone in the bar.

Occupy are idiots, Bundy and his militia are terrorists, according to the FBI's definition. The Ten X thugs are just that- Thugs, Ten X has a reputation, its a fairly violent bar where some of the wannabe gangbangers like to hang out. Had the shooters names been 'John', 'Mike' or even 'Parminder' this would be a non-starter issue, but because there names were 'Mohammad' suddenly some media wants to tie this to terrorism.
