Hotels will be expected to provide up to three meals a day. It states the government will reimburse up to $15 per person for breakfast, $16 for lunch and $30 for dinner."
Mmmm...yummy. Sign me up.
"The government is also asking suppliers set aside rooms for two government representatives who will be on-site 24 hours a day, seven days a week for the duration of the bookings."
Cancel my booking. We're now talking major fuck-ups everywhere.
"The government has said it plans to invest $678 million over six years toward the resettlement and support of Syrian refugees."
So by the rule of government estimates you have to at least double that, which means we're talking about over a billion dollars.
We have pensioners who worked hard their entire life, paying taxes, members of the armed forces who sacrificed life and limb, and natives living 15 to a sub standard house. The government can't be bothered to help them, yet they'll fork over millions for foreigners. Charity starts at home. I guess wogs present better selfie/photo ops for PM idJT
The Liberals will do anything for their future voter base.

Their current base should be pleased as he is doing exactly what he promised during his campaign.
A family of four 'refugees' would be given an allowance of over $7300 a month ....just for food alone.

When you're a drama teacher you inherently understand the importance of a good photo op or publicity coup. Besides taking in all these refugees when the rest of the world is starting to have second thoughts, especially about security makes you look compassionate and keeps the spotlight on how cool your youth, hair and attitude are.
BTW I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for any of the promised Veterans Affairs programs because, these are the same assholes who brought in lump sum disability payments, took 20 billion from the pension fund and are quite happy to continue taking the CPP away from your military pension when you turn 65 no matter what size it is.
As for being a senior. Standby because he's taking away split incomes so, as an old non refugee you'll likely start losing thousands of dollars a year when the next budget comes out but hey, that money will go alongway in feeding some refugee family on their paltry $186.00 per day stipend while you eat dog food which, should make you feel good about yourself though.
Liberal and compassion are an oxymoron unless of course you're a refugee.

The current bleeding heart base who support Canadians being kicked to the curb for refugees can suck it.
"The death of a boy whose body washed up on a Turkish beach made the Syrian crisis a key issue in the Canadian election. But what do the federal party leaders propose to do about it? Here’s a primer"
The Conservative government began opening spaces for Syrian refugees in 2013, with the goal of taking in 11,300 refugees by the end of 2018. Of those, only about 2,500 had arrived by early September. In August, Conservative Leader Stephen Harper promised to bring in an additional 10,000 Syrian and Iraqi refugees over four years if re-elected.
The New Democrats have committed to bringing 46,000 Syrian refugees to Canada over four years if elected. However, NDP Leader Tom Mulcair has come under pressure from within his own party to double that number.
Leader Justin Trudeau has pledged that, if the Liberals are elected, they would resettle 25,000 Syrian refugees by Jan. 1.
: A Liberal government would directly sponsor Syrian refugees to help meet their pledge of 25,000 refugees by the new year, Mr. Trudeau says.
NDP: Mr. Mulcair has pledged to immediately name a commissioner who would be dispatched to the Middle East to speed up the processing of refugees.
NDP: The party platform estimates that additional measures to aid Syrian refugees would cost $64-million a year over four years.
Liberals: The party estimates that its plan to resettle Syrian refugees faster will cost $100-million in this fiscal year, and $250-million overall. Mr. Trudeau has also encouraged Canadians to make donations to the UNHCR.

And why not? What kind of Islamophobic, xenophobic racist would object to taking care of poor, helpless refugees? It's not YOUR money, after all, it's the government's money and they need to take care of people with it. You cruel, evil greedy types would just waste that money on stupid things like defense and taking care of roads and parks and nonsense like that.
[Just getting that in before one of the assclowns does it for real!]
If anybody here believes that we would not have done the exact same thing if the Cons were still in office, I have just one thing to say...
You're absolutely right but, given your proclivity for stating the obvious do you still think the Liberals should get a pass for doing it while leaving or causing average Canadians to suffer?
From an October article in the Globe and Mail.
