We've been terrorized, that's why they call it terrorism

Somewhere in this country someone is probably daydreaming about, or even planning, an act of politically inspired mass murder. When the time comes, how will Canada respond to an attack on the scale of Paris or San Bernardino on its home soil?

Of course, the events in San Bernardino took on the significance they did only because the attackers were radicalized Muslims. So many mass shootings occur in America that they aren't big news anymore, unless they involve murders of worshippers in a church, or students, or patients at a Planned Parenthood clinic (all of which happened in 2015).

Like all the other attackers, the San Bernardino shooters loaded up on the guns and ammo that are so easily available in America. In that sense, the United States is an extremist's candy store, but Americans don't tend to look at it that way. In any event, their gun lobby is determined that nothing will change; Americans have many admirable traits, but a sense of irony isn't one of them.

Most of the mass shootings in the USA in 2013 involved criminals killing other criminals and it's hard to get too upset about people who are inadvertently improving their neighborhoods.

So really not many crazed gun killings, nothing to worry about? Then why get your panties in such a twist when a small fraction of those "few" killings are my jihadis? Sandy Hook, 20 kids dead, meh. San Bernadino - it's the Mooooslims, lets ban them all.

One is a loner who should have been hospitalized and the other is a growing fascist movement. They aren't comparable.

I don't know. It's not just the natives who are growing restless.

    Canada’s Growing Jihadi Cancer

The border that terrorists are most likely to cross into the United States is not the one with Mexico, but Canada.
Ignore growing Muslim fundamentalism and extremism in Canada at your peril. That’s the message an increasingly vocal number of moderate and secular Canadian Muslims and counterterrorism experts want to send to the United States and the rest of the world.

The attention focused last week on the Ontario branch of al-Huda, the same religious school the San Bernardino killer Tashfeen Malik attended in Pakistan, is just one example of increasing Saudi-funded Islamic fundamentalism all over Canada.

Radical mosques with reported ties to terrorist organizations have flourished in and around Toronto as well as in Montreal, while some politicians, including Canada’s new prime minister, Justin Trudeau, have been reluctant to constrain or even criticize these groups, defending them in the name of diversity and multiculturalism.

For instance, the Mississauga, Ontario, branch of the al-Huda school closed for at least one day last week after CBC reported that four girls who studied there left Canada to join the so-called Islamic State.

“Farhat Hashmi runs al-Huda and denies that jihad is being taught there,” Dr. Farzana Hassan of the moderate Canadian Muslim Congress told The Daily Beast. “She’s not telling the truth. I’ve listened to her podcasts in the Urdu language. She praises jihad and says women should participate. There is a possibility of impressionable young women hearing that and being radicalized.”

But you know what would make Canada better? 25,000 Syrians, that's what!

We were discussing the Sandy Hook massacre, not the shooting in Colorado Springs.

They quietly upped it to 50K when the ones who should have been paying better attention were distracted by the opportunity to have their photo taken with Prime Minister Selfie. Sigh, he's just soooooooo dreamy. :|

The trouble is, he buys into that too. All politicians are self promoting narcissistic camera hogs, but he's taking it to new heights.

Kind of convincing proof too that the vapid starry-eyed Baby Boom celeb-fuckers that fell in love with the elder Trudeau are identical to the vapid starry-eyed Generation Pussy celeb-fuckers that have fallen in love with the younger Trudeau. This is why most of us hip & fashionably cynical Gen X'ers that ended up getting book-ended by both massive demographics have basically given up. There's not much point in trying when your efforts are inevitably going to be derailed by both the meatheads that preceded us and the ones that are now succeeding us. And this is just one of the many reasons why we to drink, Fuck, man, Cobain was more right when he put that barrel in his mouth than he ever could have known ...... :|
