The court documents say the ministry moved him to a separate confinement unit for the maximum allowable period of 72 hours after an with a correctional officer.

But if you go to the Vancouver Sun site it's quite explicit the "altercation" was actually an assault.

“He is a refugee, he has been diagnosed with Severe Conduct Disorder and he assaulted a correctional officer,” Terepocki wrote in a news release.

So I guess they should have made sure he had contact and access to other people since it's tough to assault people who aren't there. ROTFL

So we have a refugee that's currently incarcerated on allegations of murder and attempted murder, but one news outlet considers him a victim while the other outlet paints an completely different picture.

But it does prove a point that the same story can be spun a number of ways depending on your political bent and make it difficult to form an opinion not based on someone else's bias.

YOu didn't read the next paragraphs?

When the time expired, staff cleared out an entire unit, took away all extraneous furniture and placed K.C. back inside by himself, say the documents. Correctional staff were advised that "no one was to have one-on-one contact" with the young man.

The documents say K.C. was served meals by a staff member who would only enter and place the meal tray on a table when he had been remotely locked inside his cell.

Yes I did and that doesn't abrogate the fact the little asshole was a risk to assault or worse which, is borne out by his current situation and lawyers description.

I suppose the taking away of his rights to assault others is a grave concern to you and the prison system is at fault for protecting their staff and other inmates. But much like the CBC you side with the person playing the victim card rather than weigh the facts which proves my point entirely.

I'm sorry but he's the architect of his own problems and deserved everything he got and will be getting if found guilty of murder.

I would be very surprised if this is the only juvenile who is a risk to assault. Do they stick all of them in solitary for months at a time too? The rule is there for a reason.

I'm not sure what facts prove your point? I assume your point is go ahead and do anything you want to inmates, fuck the rules?

The point is if you can't function in a controlled prison environment without assaulting or attempting to murder other inmates and staff you have to be ready to face the consequences of your actions. Just because the staff at that facility put the safety of themselves and the other inmates ahead of this thugs wants doesn't mean that he's a victim.

There is a big difference between real solitary confinement and isolation from other inmates and staff which, is where they put him because of his behavior.

As for other kids having issues like this I'm sure he's not the first nor the only one who was put in isolation till he learned that rules were meant to be followed but, since you disagree maybe it'd be better if they started putting Thorazine in the mashed potatoes so little angels like him could spend their time drooling in their soup rather than running amok and suing the Gov't.

Was he better off here or where he came from? Is he so wronged and scared he will be fleeing Canada to go home? No? Then shut the hell up and be more respectful and thankful next time.
