Dozens of students encircled Yale college master Nicholas Christakis, who said he would not censor what people could wear on Halloween, with one girl screaming at him.

Hard to believe that US universities were once the paradigm of free speech.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves. This is one person having a proper spaz over a triviality.

Still, she needs to get over it and then some.

The little git doesn't need to get over herself, what she really needs is to be put over someones knee and taught a modicum of respect for other people, especially her betters.

Good to see she'll be going out into the world with that giant chip on her shoulder though because, it'll get knocked off right smartly when she meets someone who isn't as accommodating to her tirades as the "master".

This is one person is this particular video. The fact is that colleges have thousands of these "social justice warriors" roaming their campuses. These people think that they have the right to overtake speaking engagements and shout down people they disagree with. They cause unrest on campus to extort the school into withdrawling speaking engagements from people they disagree with. They cause unrest and demand that faculty, and administrators that they disagree with resign. They think that its the schools (and governments) job to make the world a perfect place for them, where they never have to hear or see anything they do not agree with. Anything that offends them needs to be removed.

I say give this princess a dose of her own medicine. She wants the heavy hand of government to censor speech she disagrees with. She likes silencing people. I say the vast majority disagrees with her shouting profanites out in public in the middle of the day. I mean this is a college right? All these little darlings should be "protected" from such vulgarities, shouldn't they? Lets arrest this bitch for disordely conduct, and disturbing the peace., Run her through the legal mill, and see how she likes it when the government gets to decide who gets free speech. The college should "protect" the rest of the student body from her disagreeable speech by expelling this loudmouth bitch. Withdraw all government financial aid. Give her what she wants. Big brother sanitizing the world, and removing disagreeable, objectionable things. I say lets start with her.

I like blogger Blazing Cat Fur's comment on this one.

He's responding to a comment about how Yale used to be a bastion of free speech and says:

Okay but in those days the U still mainly turned out professionals (high school teacher, lawyer, dentist, engineer, librarian, etc.) Today it turns out a much greater proportion of baristas and ‘crats – a consequence of more people going to U.

These are people who cannot, should not, or dare not think for themselves. And no one needs them to anyway. For their lives, government has all the answers. They need only provide the demands.

Alumni, your alma mater is dead. So don’t give to U’s unless they adopt and enforce free speech charters.

Let the big coffee companies and the government train their own baristas and ‘crats.

But Yale's got problems and it's not like they can escape to Harvard.

Personally I think these Yalies are amateurs. You wanna see the Ontario girls shut down speech. They know what they're doing.

Hey remember when they shut down that discussion at U of Waterloo by dressing like a big vagina and calling the speaker disgusting.

Sit back and watch how the big girls do it, Yale.

God, I need a "safe space" to withdraw to after watching that one.

Its videos like that, that make me oppose people like Bernie Sanders who say college should be free. No, no it should not. I went into the Armed Forces for over four years to earn some educational assistance. By the time I went to school (tech school) at age 22, I had some idea as to what I wanted to do for a living. Between money that I had saved, my veterans benefits, and part time jobs, I was able to put myself through school. I still had to spend thousands of dollars to buy the hand tools, and test instruments necessary to perform my trade. Many of you have been in the same boat as me. You served in the Armed Forces. You served an apprenticeship ( you busted your ass and went to school at the same time), You borrowed money and went into debt in order to better yourself and your family's future. You worked part time jobs. You ate caffiene pills and drank double expressos till your hands were shaking and you were ready to puke. You worked multiple jobs, different shifts, and studied every waking second. You fell asleep studying. You almost fell asleep driving home from your multiple jobs. Often you did not know what day you were in, you had to ask someone.

Now this new generation comes along. Everything should be "free". We owe them something. Why should they go into debt for a higher education? The better question should be: why should my tax dollars support the types of people represented in these videos in any capacity? I went to school to learn a trade. I actually "do something" for a living. Most people who get degrees actually "do something" for a living. They provide a needed service. They contribute to society in a meaningful way. What are these dipshits ever going to contribute with their meaningless liberal arts degrees? Do you see many job oppurtunities in your local paper for people with women's studies degrees? I don't see any in mine. I see these people taking up space and free loading wi-fi at my starbucks when I grab a cup of coffee on the way into work. They are all still there if I grab a cup of joe after work. Screw free higher education. If you want to learn non employable B.S. and spend your time going to protests dressed as a giant vagina, than do that on your dime. Not mine.

I have no trouble at all calling millenials the worst generation of spoiled little cowards that's ever come along, except for the ones who joined up to serve in the forces. I thought the ones like us who got all morose and depressed listening to Cobain back in the 1990's were fucked up. Compared to these pussy millenials though in comparison we Gen X'ers look as courageous as Sir Galahad. Those kids on campus that behave that way are seriously fucked up both mentally and emotionally. The school system and their parents did something seriously bad to them to make them that spoiled and hypersensitive. It's fucking disgraceful is what it is.

Yup, the system and parents are the same Gen Xers as you and me.

And we just elected a whole bunch of them to the PM and Cabinet.

Hang on, it will be a fun ride.... down.

Every generation thinks that. If this was 1914, do you think you'd be going, "Oh great. They're having world wars now."
