Man this guy is the most innocent person on the planet.

First the Buffalo assault and now the sexual assault accusations and still no arrests. But hey, given that the consensus is that where there's smoke there fire like in the Cosby case I wonder why this guy always comes out smelling like a rose?

    Oh wait.

Kane’s accuser decided to no longer cooperate in the investigation

I wonder why or, should I say how much? :P

Good thing he wasn't in Canada where the Crown lays the charge and the victim has sweet fuck all to do with it after the initial complaint, especially with assault cases.

Except the prosecutor said the evidence doesn't support her claim. Of course in Canada that wouldn't stop prosecution anyway, probably.

Even a POS like Kane is allowed to be innocent. The botch with the alleged victims mom pulling some weird stunt with the evidence bag she claimed was left at her house, followed by their own attorney quitting the case immediately after it happened, showed that something not on the level was going on. I doubt it's as clear a situation as the local DA not wanting to prosecute the local big time sports "hero" because he's under pressure from certain individuals the community to let him go. In this instance Kane is now playing the role of Freddie Quimby. A despicable person on a lot of levels but just not guilty of this particular offense.

If you don't act guilty you can't be guilty. WTF???

Although Kane has exercised his constitutional right to remain silent (which prohibits questioning by law enforcement), he has made no known incriminating statements to any civilian, nor has he engaged in any conduct consistent with a consciousness of guilt.

Kane and Kobe Bryant completely innocent and accused just because they were sports stars.

"The very difficult part of this is when you are basically an international sports star, and as a result, a likely target," Cambria told AP Thursday. "And you have to go through three months of reading things in the media that you know are not true, and they're hurtful things and accusatory things. That's a very difficult burden to bear."

To bad we'll never know the real truth because for some reason celebrities have a way of being accused but never being charged when it comes to things like this.

You seem to have skipped over this part:
    - There are significant material inconsistencies between the complainant’s accounts and those of other witnesses.

    - The DNA results lend no corroboration whatsoever to the complainant’s claim of penetration, a required element of proof for a rape charge.

    - The physical evidence and the forensic evidence, when viewed in tandem, tend to contradict the complainant’s claim that she was raped on Kane’s bed.

Celebs think they're spatial and should be allowed to get away with anything. OTOH, they are also prey for the fortune and fame seekers. I know nothing about this guy. Maybe he is a slimeball. But even slimeballs can be innocent.

Looks like most of you guys, besides andy, have kept up the good old CKA standard.

    Guilty before innocent.

It doesn't matter than none of the evidence lines up, there's no DNA on the alleged victim and no witnesses to the actual case....he must be guilty.

Shows how carefully you bothered to read the other posts because Foggie's the only one leaning towards a "celebrities always get away with it argument".

Let's hope he'll learn something from this. Celebs are a big target. All that fame and money attract some very strange people.

Once again you guys can call me sceptical but, nothing that anyone with a little fame and fortune does would surprise anymore. Especially, given that they have the resources to either pay off their accusers or, hire a good enough defense team to get them off, even before an arrest or trial are necessary.

If this was his first run in with the law I'd say sure he's getting a raw deal and was likely innocent but he was previously charged with second-degree robbery, fourth-degree criminal mischief and theft of services all of which were dropped when he pled guilty to disorderly conduct. What I find interesting is that this case was being investigated by the same people who dropped all those charges the first time.

Patrick Kane's legal troubles have been resolved.

In a plea agreement between the Blackhawks winger and the Erie County, N.Y., district attorney's office, Kane pleaded guilty Thursday to disorderly conduct -- a non-criminal violation -- and in return had all other charges dropped in a case involving an altercation with a Buffalo cabdriver on Aug. 9.

"All the original charges were dismissed and were satisfied in the case with a non-criminal disposition to disorderly conduct," Kane's lawyer, Paul Cambria, said. "The judge gave him a conditional discharge. There was no fine imposed and the matter has been resolved."

I wonder if he's still the same young man described here after his last run in with the law.

"Patrick is obviously very sorry that this ever happened. He clearly is a responsible, wonderful, young man. The entire thing was overblown from Day 1 because of who Patrick is. If this was any ordinary citizen it just would have gone through the courts and been resolved in a minor way."

    http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2009 ... er-charges

Did he rape the girl, who knows but, as a gambling man I'd say there is more to the story than we're being told about this "wonderful, young man".
