The United Nations' weather body says unusually cold high-altitude conditions have expanded the Antarctic ozone hole to one of the largest sizes on record, though the long-term trend remains one of shrinkage.

    How?

We were told that when we stopped using CFC's the holes would stop growing.

BTW things that that keep growing aren't on the road to recovery because, if that was true Canada wouldn't have a pothole and tumours wouldn't kill their hosts.

China, Russia, and most of the whole damn world outside of North America and Europe are still using CFCs.

That's why I can get Freon from Mexico for my air conditioner!

Ozone is an extremely unstable configuration of oxygen. Lots of things can cause it to break down, like CFCs, freon and halons + UV light. The hole naturally expands and contracts with the seasons.

One of those nasty predictions of global warming is that increasing CO2 in the atmosphere + UV light from the sun will also cause it's depletion.

I think that our halting our use of freons, halons, CFCs and things like carbon tetrachoride have ozone depletion, but it's going to take a long time for the holes to recover. If we hadn't stopped use of those chemicals, then we'd be a lot worse off than we already are. Right now the only risks are at higher altitudes - places like Tibet, and the poles.

Define "using". If you mean using like we used to use CFCs, do you have a source to support that statement. 'Cause every UN nation is signed to the Montreal Protocol. Are they ("China, Russia and most of the whole damn world") ignoring their obligations?
