A Liberal candidate in the British Columbia riding of Cowichan-Malahat-Langford who expressed skepticism about the 9/11 attacks in past social media posts said it was her "truth" at the time and she has since moved on.

    I seriously doubt her position changed because of some personal revelation or proof of truth. It was likely only changed after it was pointed out that her batshit crazy conspiracy theory position bordered on the absurd and would destroy her chances of election.


    Politicians are somewhat pragmatic when it comes to survival and will change their spots or in this case position at will if they think it'll help them get elected.

    And now she's gone

    After stepping back and reflecting on recent events, I have decided to resign as the Liberal candidate for Cowichan–Malahat–Langford. I fully support Justin Trudeau, the Liberal team, and the real change they are bringing to Canadians. This election is far too important to have my past opinions and comments detract from that goal. I sincerely apologize to those I have offended. I will continue to devote myself to my music and humanitarian work.
