Your cat doesn’t love you: science

Rudyard Kipling was right. Cats really do walk by themselves, and do not need their owners to feel secure and safe, a study has shown. Although absent owners might worry that their pet is pining, in fact, cats show no sign of separation anxiety.

I am happy to see that these researchers finally managed to figure out Why Cats Rule #3. 8)
Sarah needs to work on what to call her articles but it did make me look.

We just got back from a 2 week holiday where we had a neighbour feed our cat (he has a doggie door).
The bugger hasn't let us out of his sight except to go out and take a dump! We were unpacking the suitcase and he climbed in as idf to say 'take me with you next time'.
The dog seems pissed off at being kenneled... but did the happy dance. Big deal, he's so stupid he can't tell if I've been gone two weeks or just took out the garbage.

This is news? With cats, yoire not their owner, you're their staff.

    The article is not true.

My wife was away for three days last week, the cat disappeared for those 3 days and suddenly reappeared the minute she got home.

It's certainly a different love vs dogs. Cat's deem themselves the dominant one in the relationship. When they rub themselves on you, they are marking you as their property. But one a cat brings you a dead bird, you know they care for you. Sharing food is a pretty basic sign of it, and none of my dogs ever offered to share their food with me.

My dog only wants to share MY food. He's a Pomeranian and such a pig I've threatened to feed him a foot long hot dog so I can see it come out one end while still going in the other!
