It looks like the story link in the OP might be blocked by Sky News.

Very well, try their competitor, the BBC.

Wouldn't be hard to get a conspiracy theory going, would it?

There was this explosion in a country where Muslim terror is gathering steam in the south, then there was a mysterious explosion of a chemical plant in China. Then there was that thwarted bomb attack in Indonesia.

Indonesian authorities have foiled an alleged plot by Islamic State supporters to bomb a police station and churches in Surakarta, Central Java on Monday, Indonesia's Independence Day.

According to Agus Rianto, the national police spokesman, the plot was directed from Syria by an unnamed Indonesian who had joined Islamic State, also known as ISIS or ISIL.

Five men have been arrested, along with bomb-making materials.

The television news down here is saying "Muslim separatists" have claimed responsibility for the bombing attack on a revered Hindu temple.

weird....Hindus only make up .09% of the Thai population. What beef would the Muslims have with such a tiny minority..... :?:

Probably the easiest target. Thailand is starting to drift towards the Burmese method of dealing with Islamic terror so, if the terrorists wanted to make a point why not do it to a Hindu religious shrine vice a Buddhist one especially given the repercussions likely to follow to the other adherents of the religion of peace if they attacked the primary religion of the country.

I guess they learned from Burma that you don't want to piss off a peaceful Buddhist. ROTFL

Sometimes the quietest, meekest appearing people have the ability to cause you a whole world of butt hurt.

Amazing how news covers events around the world. When I was a preschooler, we had 3 TV stations: CBC, CTV, and one independent. There was a 4th, but it was in French. The independent station moved its transmitter, then became one of the founding stations for the Canadian TV network called "Global". Cable TV carried American stations, but most people didn't have cable in the 1960s. We didn't get news coverage of events like this. These events happened; we just didn't hear about it. When I lived in Miami in 1999 and year 2000, cable TV didn't cover anything outside the continental US unless it directly affected Americans. I had to view Canadian news over the internet to learn what's going on outside the lower 48. The world is not becoming more dangerous, we're just hearing about it. It's a big world.
