Men who are successful with women and comfortable with their own masculinity don't devote so much time and energy to the topic.

The ones who are always trying to put up a front by imitating cheesy "real man" stereotypes and endless carping about feminists are more often the ones who are compensating for their perceived masculinity problems.

Like Gamergate it's much more complicated an issue than a single sentence could describe, but basically it was (my version) Calgary Exhibition progressive bureaucrats of the Politically Correct versus the legitimate comic reading gameplaying, nerd girls of the Honey Badger brigade at a comics convention. The progs had the cops though so they managed to shut the evil nerd girls down. Nenshi Progressivism 1 Nerds 0.

As to Roosh I don't know about him, but I know enough about the CBC, and the social justice warriors they prefer to represent not to trust them as the last word on who he might be, the full context of what he might say, and how bad he might need to be forced to "Shut up."

I'm not going to get involved in any of the idiocy of video gamers yapping back and forth at each other. It's moronic in the extreme, truly juvenile, and I truly do not care about this particularly moronic aspect of millennial subculture. All I know about these MRA clowns like this Roosh prick is that they go around encouraging abuse of women and that they've got this fucked up anti-human philosophy going where they believe that the more obnoxious, bullying, and abusive a man behaves makes him an "alpha" whereas every other male who doesn't behave that way is some kind of a wimpy "beta". It was this kind of toxic shit that Eliot Rodgers believed in when he when on his shooting spree and killed eight people, all apparently because the "bitches" out there didn't recognize his manly alpha awesomeness and wouldn't spread their legs for him.

Roosh and other like him come from the internet sewer, just like 4chan and most of Reddit. If you want to go swimming in the same septic tank with them because your politics demand you to then go right ahead. Just don't expect any other person, especially anyone who can still think or don't want life to be endlessly controlled by the crappiest people among us, to follow you on this one. Seriously, make a harder effort once in a while to make a hero out of someone who isn't the very worst person that you can find.

Is Roosh even MRA? I don't get that impression from the little I've seen so far.

I just did a quick browse of his site, and no, I don't think he is MRA. It's not equal treatment he seems interested in.

He's more like some sort of male supremacist. He seems more like the flip side of third wave feminism, where equality is not enough. You have to be above with the enemy below like cat on mouse.

With third wavers though they seem to want to subdue opposition with something like waves of hysterical demands and deafness to reason.





With Roosh opposition is marginalized with mockery sourced at a supremacist pose. (Kind of like what I just did above there, but less dead on accurate, because being right doesn't matter. It's just a pose.) That's the way it looks to me after a quick browse anyway.

But no, I don't see him as anything like the MRA or the Gamergate people I listen to. The best of them are quite reasonable.
