Now Windows 10 has launched, Microsoft is starting to fill in the blanks regarding features removed from Windows 7 and Windows 8 and it doesnt make for pleasant reading. Why? Because behind this free upgrade are the first signs of where Microsoft will

The Programming APIs are pretty tightly controlled in Win10, so I don't think we'll be seeing a lot of 'free' software for Windows 10. But most of the time, free software is worth what you pay for it. ;)

If Steam put out more Linux games, I wouldn't have a need to run Windows at all.

Windows-as-a-service? Fuck that. I will not be downloading W10.

I don't see this as a problem. Who uses DVD video anymore? Why should the cost of Windows be inflated by the licensing costs of DVD for a feature very few people probably use anymore. Video is downloaded or streamed online nowadays.

Windows 10 is free, if you need DVD player software, suck it up and buy it. There are many 3rd party dvd software.

{raises hand} I still watch my DVD/BluRay collection, but I usually use my PS3 for playback.

    VLC player is free. :)

But I really liked Media Center while it lasted, and I still use it with my Happauge TV PVR on Windows 7.

Even if you buy Windows 10 (Pro on USB = $260), it still doesn't come with a DVD player.
